Despite the horrible tan I got over the 4th of July, I brushed it off and went to SUITE 701 last night (Friday) for the first time and I have to say I was quite impressed. It’s a lounge where the comfort level was sky high, the music was intense, the bartenders were outstanding, and the crowd was in good shape. Read the rest of this entry »
Despite persistent rumors among friends and collegues, I am not agoraphobic, and just to prove it, Saturday night I ventured out into the frightening, germ-ridden world to check out Live @ The Smoke Shack.
What a show! The best part was…uh… I remember a big blue bottle of Riesling and I don’t really drink very often, so you do the math. I’m pretty sure I had a good time though. Anyway, for the parts where my mind is drawing blanks, you can always refer to the pictures.

Of all the four letter words in the English language, BYOB is one of my favorites (Shut up. I know it’s an acronym). Anyway, the Smoke Shack has this cool BYOB policy so you can sit around, smoke a hookah, and just chill with some cheap beer or wine or whatever. Read the rest of this entry »

Every April, Austin locals gather to celebrate Eeyore’s birthday. Yes, that Eeyore. The sad little donkey from the Winnie the Pooh books by A. A. Milne.
