Drive by P. F. Chang’s in McAllen on any given weekend, and you’re likely to see an hour long line every time. Consequently, I expected the place to be pretty amazing, the way that a bulldog on a skateboard is pretty amazing. Ya know, a little wow factor. Otherwise, what the hell is everybody waiting for?

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse in McAllen, TX

I really wanted to like BJ’s in McAllen since it’s right down the road from my house, and the line at P.F. Chang’s is goddamn ridiculous. The restaurant itself is nice enough with all the charm of your typical contemporary corporate owned American restaurant. Think Applebee’s with better interior design.
The seating time was very reasonable, and the table service was good. The food, however…sigh… (more…)

In keeping with my theme of doing less and less until I’m basically comatose, I didn’t even take a camera to Energetik.org‘s Holidaze party at the Cypress.
Instead of taking pictures all night, I opted to use my precious time for drinking beer and smoking cigarettes simultaneously, without the constant pressure of moving and doing stuff that didn’t include beer and cigarettes. That was so much easier. (more…)
