Eeyore’s Birthday Party in Austin
0Every April, Austin locals gather to celebrate Eeyore’s birthday. Yes, that Eeyore. The sad little donkey from the Winnie the Pooh books by A. A. Milne. The tradition was started in 1963 by a group of english students from the University of Texas and the party’s gotten bigger every year. Much, much bigger. (more…)
The Onion
0The Onion – which bills itself as America’s Finest News Source – is a weekly online publication where all of the “news” is basically stuff they just made up. And not just any kind of stuff, but the smart and funny kind of stuff that makes you go “oh…that is soooo true”, except that it’s not.
And if there’s one thing funnier about this site than it’s content, it’s the fact that the Beijing Evening News once reprinted an article from the Onion believing it to be legitimate journalism. Those kooky communists.
